Okada Manila opened a dedicated 70-machine “New Game” zone on 25 October, giving AGS and Aruze Gaming Global equal floor space for a set of Philippine-market debuts.
The zone, positioned at the Pearl Lobby entrance to the casino floor, contains 35 machines from each supplier and six game families. It is more than a routine cabinet refresh: Okada executives described the area as the first dedicated AGS-and-Aruze new-game zone in both the Philippines and Asia, with titles intended to appear there before wider deployment.
Six game families and a new AGS cabinet
According to GGRAsia’s report from the opening, the AGS bank carries Legends of Imperial 88, Triple Coin Treasuresand Rakin’ Bacon! Triple Oink. The installation also marks the Philippine debut of AGS’s 49-inch curved-screen cabinet.
Aruze’s side features Triple Treasure Pot Spin, Cash Master Blaster and Horrorific!. Aruze Gaming Global’s Michael Tuen said the supplier plans another cabinet for the first quarter of 2027 and that the Philippines could become its first Asian market.
Mindslot-e, AGS’s exclusive Asian distributor, expects to assess four or five additional titles after the initial three have produced enough performance data. That detail turns the launch into a commercially useful test: supplier, distributor and operator can evaluate new content in a prominent, controlled environment before committing to broader placement.
A showroom with measurable consequences
The opening also included early access for 70 Okada Reward Circle VIPs, ASEAN Gaming reported. Okada Manila’s own gaming overview says the resort operates approximately 3,000 electronic gaming machines, meaning the new zone represents a visible but still tightly bounded slice of the wider floor. The resort’s official gaming page provides the current property context.
The supplier initiative follows a softer quarter for the machine segment. Okada Manila reported a 4% year-on-year decline in third-quarter gaming-machine revenue despite higher handle, while mass-market tables moved in the opposite direction. IGI covered the broader result in its third-quarter business review.
Our view
Okada has created a launch channel, not merely a themed corner. Concentrating unfamiliar products at a major entrance gives the games visibility and gives the suppliers a cleaner read on adoption than scattered placements would provide. The real proof will be repeat play, cabinet productivity and whether the best performers graduate to larger installations at Okada or elsewhere in the Philippines.
We expect more suppliers to seek similarly defined trial zones at large Philippine properties. For studios and distributors, a credible floor test in Manila can become evidence for regional sales conversations; for operators, rotating content through a dedicated zone lowers the risk of letting the broader floor go stale. The commercial value will depend on disciplined measurement after the opening-week novelty fades.
